Meet Bonnie Ledford, CNM

Bonnie Ledford, CNM, is thrilled to offer home birth and women’s health care in New York’s Southern Tier. With over 25 years of experience in women’s health, community health, and hospice care, Bonnie brings both deep clinical wisdom and heartfelt compassion to every client she serves.

Midwifery has always been Bonnie’s dream—and Qavah Midwifery is the expression of that lifelong calling. Her true passion lies in partnering with women throughout their health journeys, and in supporting families through the miraculous, sacred work of birth.

After years working within hospital systems, Bonnie chose to return birth to its natural setting: the home. Home birth offers comfort, autonomy, and a sense of rhythm that honors each person’s unique journey. Without the pressures of institutional protocols, families can experience birth in a calm, connected, and empowering way.

When she’s not attending births or visiting with clients, Bonnie enjoys hiking forest trails, skiing powdery slopes, baking from scratch, reading by lamplight, and taking restorative naps. She has been married to her husband Gabe, an EMS pilot with Mercy Flight, for 28 years. Together they’ve raised four children, ages 25, 22, 18, and 13.

At Qavah, Bonnie leads with heart, evidence-based care, and a deep respect for the transformative power of birth.
