Our Services

At Qavah Midwifery, we believe birth is not a medical event to control, but a powerful, natural process to honor. The biggest reason many families choose home birth is autonomy—the ability to labor and birth in a space where they feel safe, heard, and in control.

Pregnancy and birth are normal, healthy states in most women’s lives. As your midwife, I approach them as such—with mindful observation, not unnecessary intervention. You and your baby are beautifully designed to grow together, to labor when the time is right, and to make the sacred transition from womb to world.

Choosing home birth means receiving personalized care in your own environment—with a skilled provider and assistant by your side. We bring essential emergency supplies and always discuss a thoughtful transfer plan, just in case it’s needed. Most of the time, birth unfolds gently and powerfully in the space you’ve made your own.

You’ll receive unhurried prenatal visits—30 to 60 minutes long—either in your home or our office, so we can truly get to know you, your family, and your vision for birth. During labor, we offer continuous support using movement, hydrotherapy, counterpressure, massage, music, and more—midwives are full of tricks and tools to ease the process. But most of all, you’ll discover your own innate strength and ability to bring your baby into the world.

After birth, care continues with a minimum of three postpartum visits, often more. We closely monitor both you and your baby while supporting breastfeeding and your recovery in those tender early days.

Home birth is intimate, powerful, and deeply personal. It allows you to birth with dignity, agency, and love—and we are honored to support you every step of the way.

Prenatal Care

We believe prenatal care should be personal, unrushed, and deeply supportive. Each visit is 30–60 minutes long and takes place either in your home or our office—whatever helps you feel most comfortable. These appointments are where we build a relationship, learn your story, and support your evolving physical and emotional needs.

Prenatal care includes:

  • Regular checkups for you and baby

  • Nutritional, emotional, and lifestyle guidance

  • Lab work coordination with in-network providers

  • Education about your options and preferences

  • Creating your personalized birth plan

  • Welcoming family or birth partners into care (if desired)

Our goal is to equip you with knowledge, confidence, and peace as you prepare for birth.

Labor and Birth At Home

Home birth is about freedom, safety, and sacred space. In labor, you are supported by a licensed midwife and trained birth assistant with the skills, supplies, and experience to care for both low-risk birth and rare complications. We create a calm, grounded atmosphere where your body can do what it was designed to do.

Labor support includes:

  • On-call care from 37 weeks through birth

  • Continuous, compassionate presence during labor

  • Access to birth tools: hydrotherapy, movement, massage, counterpressure, positioning, music, and more

  • Monitoring your baby's heart rate, your vitals, and overall well-being

  • Emergency supplies and a clear, pre-discussed hospital transfer plan if needed

Birth is intimate and sacred—your midwife is there to witness, guide, and protect that space, not control it.

Postpartum Support

The journey doesn’t end after the baby is born. Postpartum is a time of physical recovery, emotional change, and deep bonding. We stay connected to ensure both you and your baby are thriving.

Postpartum care includes:

  • A minimum of three home visits in the first weeks (often more)

  • Newborn assessments (weight, feeding, vitals)

  • Monitoring your healing, mental health, and overall well-being

  • Lactation and breastfeeding support

  • Family support and resources

We know how important it is to feel cared for and not forgotten in the fourth trimester. You're never left to navigate it alone.
